In all of the contestants for the Miss Indian World, Gathering of Nations Pow (April 26 – 28, 2018), there was more than physical beauty, there was spiritual beauty as well as a feeling of sisterhood. The pride in Indigenous culture, heritage, language and history was well represented by all of the contestants. I offer my congratulations to “Taylor Susan, age 25, who was crowned the 35th Miss Indian World. A member of the White Mountain Apache/Walker River Paiute tribes, Susan was one of 30 contestants vying for the prestigious title.”
