Tribal Ambassadors Group Photo @ Gathering of Nations Pow Wow

This photo event was a spectacular site for all involved, from the visiting attendants standing on the bleachers, to the anticipation of friends & family taking photos from the ground. Gathering of Nations Response To The University of New Mexico

Last night news was released that the University of New Mexico ended their relationship with the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow. The Gathering has been hosted in Albuquerque for more than 30 years.  Most of those years have been at the University's basketball arena known as The Pit. Gathering of Nations No Longer At The Pit

KOB in New Mexico has reported that the University of New Mexico has cancelled the contract.  The University will no longer host the Pow Wow in the arena known as The Pit or the WisePies Arena. According to the University: "The decision is both financial and operational.  At a time when the University is facing tough budgetary constraints, hosting the PowWow had become prohibitively costly to our athletic department, as well as risk services, police and security, and other university operations."
