Rock Your Mocs Day

Rock Your Mocs Day

November is Native American Heritage Month.

In honor of that, on November 15 stand together as Native people across the world by wearing your moccasins.

Wear them all day – to work, school, and out for dinner!

And remember to take a photo of you and your friends, co-workers, and family with the Mocs On!

    YaT’hey!
Fills my heart… maybe as significant as our Ribbon Shirt.
Only we can make it so..

One Day is a great start – could give our people the pride to wear their mocs daily –

I would like to thank all my brothers and sisters for the tremendous turnout of solidarity for this day. I have been viewing all of the photos on Facebook and it is awesome. It
was good to see people from all nations “Rock the Mocs” today. Our pride is alive and strong and I hope that this will be a tradition every year and the showing of support greater each year. Also let us remember that moccasins are the original indigenous footwear of or people so let’s rock them as much as we can everyday…WaDo, Tsisqua Vaughan – Pamunkey/Eastern Cherokee/Nottoway

I WILL be wearing my mocs! When I was 3 I was in an accident that nearly destroyed my right foot and required several reconstructive surgeries. My grandmother’s dear freind, “Grandma Timbimboo” of the Western Shoshoni nation made some beautiful little beaded moccasins for me that still have and treasure, 55 years later!
