Pow Wow Dancers On NBC’s World Of Dance

Pow Wow Dancers On NBC’s World Of Dance

Indigenous Enterprised performed on the NBC tv show World of Dance this week.  The group was critiqued by judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo.

Their performance included Grass dancer, Hoop dancer, Fancy dancer, and a Chicken dancer. Their high energy routine impressed the judges.

Ultimately the judges did not advance the group further in the competition.

The performance, in my opinion, was a huge success, however.  Millions of people have now been exposed to Pow Wow culture – even if just for a couple of minutes.  I hope that this will inspire more people to come out to their local Pow Wows to find out more about our culture.

I feel lack of knowledge on a dance style shouldnt stop the judges from choosing. It’s not their genre but it was very well done and I would have liked to see more.

Oh Man! Almost! – First rule of auditioning is DONT show versatility. Strange but true. Too much going on. Goes for my art at least – show them what you can do but keep to one theme, one medium, one size etc. I thought the first song was powerful – judges were rockin – then it went electronic and the judges were not startled anymore. But you are right – it was out there on – rockin on NBC!! Congrats!
