Confident. Poised. Ready to wow the crowd.
Nikki Carter, member of the Lumbee tribe, has been modeling since a young girl with Barbizon School of Modeling. She was recently invited to walk a runway in Paris, which is any model's dream!
For five days beginning Wednesday, Carter will take her distinctive flair to an international audience for Pulp Fashion Week in Paris. She and her mother, Ginger, will leave their tiny hometown and fly out of Raleigh, stopping to pick up a gown covered in gold sequins for the 1920s Great Gatsby party associated with the show.
The show features plus-sized models – defined by the fashion world as larger than size 6. The curvy Carter, who juggles her modeling career with a full-time job as a mental health counselor and a part-time gig as a fit model for Belk, wears a size 14-16.
According to an article posted in the Fay Observer, Carter has appeared in a Las Vegas fashion show for comedian Steve Harvey's plus-sized line and was an audience favorite at the recent District of Curves Show.
It will be interesting to hear her experience! You can follow her on Facebook for live updates.
