Congrats! Taboo & ‘Magnificent Seven’ Win MTV VMA for Standing Rock Song!

Congratulations to everyone nominated in the Best “Fight Against the System” category at the MTV Video Music Awards! Since all songs nominated were fighting for just causes, MTV decided to award all the nominees with a win. One of the winners we had our eyes on was Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, whose Standing Rock song “Stand Up/ Stand N Rock” was one of our favorites.

Taboo collaborated with other Native Americans musicians on the song including Emcee One, Drezus, PJ Vegas, Spencer Battiest, Doc Battiest, MC My Verse, and Supaman. The song also included a voiceover by actress Shailene Woodley.

Here's video of Taboo and the “Magnificent Seven” backstage at the awards taking their official photo:

Congratulations again to everyone involved in the song for bringing attention to Standing Rock!
