One of the great things about coming to Gathering of Nations is you get to see dances from all nations, including our cousins to the south. Living up north now I don't get to see as many Aztec dancers as when I used to live in Texas, so this was a special treat.
While walking through pow wow alley you could catch any one of two Aztec dance groups, the Tenochtitlan Traditional Aztec Dancers and the Tlanextli Tlacopan Aztec Fire Dancers.
The headdresses are absolutely stunning. Make sure you bring your wide angle lens for the camera because those pheasant feathers are long! I hope you guys were able to watch their dance while at Gathering. Absolutely mesmerizing.
