Ron Eagle Chasing is a Traditional dancer who has been dancing for 30 years. He's from South Dakota and is from the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe.
Eagle Chasing started dancing in the 8th grade and continued until his time in the service. Eagle Chasing served in Vietnam and shared with me that the effects of serving weighed heavily on him, and he struggled with PTSD.
After seeking counsel with his elders, and praying in the Black Hills he was instructed by Creator to allow the powwow dance to heal him. With sweat, and prayer and dance, Eagle Chasing feels healed when he enters the powwow arena.
