Pine Ridge’s WK-4 Directions Skatepark Looking to Expand

PineRidgeStronghold

The WK4-Directions/Toby Eaglebull Memorial skatepark on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is a project of Stronghold Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The WK4- Directions Skateparks program hopes to become a model for future skateparks in Native communities.

Back in 2011 the first phase of the skatepark was completed with the help of generous supporters like Skater/musician Jeff Ament, Montana Pool Service, Pearl Jam/Ten Club, the Tony Hawk Foundation, Ben Harper, Chris Sacca, Mark Hubbard of Grindline skateparks, and Steve Van Doren of the Vans Corporation.

Now the Stronghold Society needs help completing the next phase, to provide more space and make it safer for the youth.

It was so great watching those little girls skate! Hopefully with your help the kids will be able to continue using this much needed skatepark. For more information on the project you can visit their Kickstarter page or StrongHoldSociety.org.
