Native Singer Wows the Judges on NBC’s The Voice

NBC's The Voice is back with a new season and loads of fresh vocal talent. The singing competition kicked off its 13th season with blind auditions being judged by Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus.

In last night's episode, we saw all four judges battling over Brooke Simpson, from the Haliwa-Saponi tribe! Check out her audition!

A here's a little bit about Brooke Simpson from NBC's The Voice:

Age: 26

From: Hollister, North Carolina

Current City: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Brooke is a full-blooded Native American from the Haliwa-Saponi tribe. She grew up on tribal grounds with 4,000 Native Americans, including most of her family. Every year they have a powwow and celebrate their traditions just like their forefathers. She discovered her love of music at age seven when she started singing with her parents. They are full-time evangelists and would take trips every weekend in their RV to different churches to sing as a family, leading praise and worship. Brooke has been performing for many years and it's gotten to the point where she has started to look for a plan B, so a lot is riding on this audition.

I'd say she killed the audition!!!!

Check out an older video of her on YouTube, just absolutely nailing this James Brown cover.

We'll be rooting for you Brooke!

Sorry, but I disagree with Jess (September,29th, 2017). God does in fact give us dreams and talents to use to glorify Him. Unless Jess is a close friend or family member, he or she has no idea what God has called Brooke Simpson to do for Him. I feel I must apologize for the narrow minded Christian that Jess appears to be. And by the way Jess, Apostle Paul said that he became all things to all men that he might win some. Therefore I believe , we should not be a friend to the ways of the world, however we must interact with those who do not believe in Christ – and be friends to them. Jess, please check your anger, confrontational ways, and your narrow mindedness in case it hinders a would be believer. God’s best to you!

There should not be a plan B if you profess to know Christ, and say he has anointed you and called you. Man does not promote us as believers, God does. She is going outside of what God has called her to do. Deceived is what she is and we need to pray that God first brings conviction so she will see clearly how she allowed the enemy to deceive her and have a repentive heart and come back to God. If we are a friend of this world/the voice we are an enemy of God’s. That is the word. That family no longer has one thing they can tell me today from a pulpit. We are either for the world or we are for God. I knew when I got saved that the things of the world had to go. That’s who I use to be. A new thing took place. She needs someone to lead her out of Egypt and back into Zion. Her mother sadly is who got all of the credit on TV for where she is. And the priest of the house is not doing what he should have done. Its just all very sad. We continue to pray that eyes will be opened before Jesus returns. Making the Saved Natives look really bad. We cannot win the world with the world. Impossible. Praying for the family.
