MHA Times recently interviewed Pete Coffey, an enrolled member and elder of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation. Mr. Coffey was the Master of Ceremonies at the White Shield Pow Wow in North Dakota this year. It’s an especially bittersweet interview since the pow wow will be moving to a new arena next year. Listen as he reminisces about past pow wows and what the future may bring for next year’s.
And just so you can get a taste of the pow wow, here’s a clip also by MHA Times of the Fancy Dance contest.
