Recently Frank Waln sat down with NPR's Jeremy Hobson, co-host of the show Here & Now, to talk about the Native American experience and his upcoming album, Tokiya.

“This album Tokiya is a very personal album,” Waln said. “A lot of it is telling the story of how I’m trying to deal and heal from the historical trauma that has been dealt to me through my ancestors and through being a survivor of genocide.”

Included in the interview are a few quick snippets of songs you'll hear on Tokiya. Not only is the music great, but the message behind it as well. Take a listen to the full interview below!

I can't wait to hear the new album! Make sure you follow Frank Waln on Facebook to find out when the new album drops and where he'll be performing next.
