Can anyone attend a Pow Wow? Are Pow Wows open to the public?

Native American Pow Wows are open to the general public to attend.  Pow Wows are open for the public to come and watch. You will be invited to watch the dancing and singing.  You will also be welcome to browse the vendors and food booths.

Native American events that may be closed to the public usually are ceremonies such as sweat lodge or pipe ceremony,

Some Pow Wows will invite audience participation at times.  Generally dancing is reserved for people in regalia.  Listen to the Emcee for more information.  You can also ask questions to the Arena Director to the Pow Wow staff.
