PowWows.com blogger Charlie Ballard interviewed the current Miss Indian World at the UC Davis Pow Wow. Danielle Ta' Sheena answered questions from the live audience and discussed her year at Miss Indian World. She will give up her crown at the end of April at the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow.

The 2016-2017 Miss Indian World is Danielle Ta’Sheena Finn. Danielle is a citizen of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and is from Porcupine, North Dakota. She is Hunkpapa Lakota, Inhanktowan Dakota, Assiniboine, and Metis. Currently, Danielle resides in Phoenix, Arizona. She received a Juris Doctorate Degree with a Certificate in Global Arbitration and Practice December 2016, from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Of her many accomplishments and accolades, Indian Country Today Media Network named Danielle one of the “50 Faces of Indian Country” for the year 2016, as well as 2015 First Year Student Pro Bono Achievement Award provided by the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law to the top student of the first year class who provided the most hours of free legal services, and a 2014 Champion for Change by the Center for Native American Youth.
