I recently found this site and about lost it!! I haven’t heard these tunes in years. Listening to them now brings tears to my eyes and allows me to relive memories of growing up with my beautiful Unchi with her instilling our values, traditions and pride into my being.
I spoke to my mom yesterday and told her how good I felt when I heard these songs to which she replied “It’s because this is who you are and it only takes hearing them again to make you realize how important our culture is”.
When I listen to ‘white music’, it is only background noise but when our music is playing it makes me feel alive. I see my Unchi’s face smiling down upon me from heaven and I remember her wisdom and realize how lucky I am to have such a beautiful culture and heritage.

Oki, i started listening 3 days ago. I believe my health is strengthening. I used to be part of POW WOWS considerably more than in past years. My spirit has been fighting to keep me strong. Medical doctors cannot help me (in past 3 years), the medication have been stealing my soul(that is how i can explain it) Ive started burning sweet grass regularly ( past 3 days) My commonlaw is going to help me get to a sweat. I believe i was strongest when i was around people that were practising.
People i need to see again are from Piikani Nation, Brocket,Alberta. (Especially a group of Boys who are men now that were the best volleyball team in Southern Alberta years ago. I have the most wonderful common law wife (Loretta), thankyou for the music and your spirituality!!

Greetings from the US…Great to see intrest in our culture…Please keep in mind that some of us have been raised in a traditional native home and as such, we have been taught to share very little when it comes to our ceremonies, culture and language(not long ago we were prosecuted for this knowledge), and may raise some issues on how we confide in others…Please keep this in mind when questions arise….We are individual tribes with many wonderful stories that may further aid you in your intellectual journey of healing….respect us as we respect you and your beautiful culture……nativesoncreations

  170. Garnet wilkins says:

I’ve been listening to the powwow music for past three years, ever since I got my computer. I’ve been to quite a few powwows over past ten years. Was with a drum group, until the drum leader passed. I get tired of listening to the same C.D.’s over and over, and when I found Pow Wow radio, I was estatic. But the past three days, it won’t plaY, SAYS something is outdated, and I have to down load something new. Very disappointing, because I don’t have extra money now, limited income.

Hi everyone, i am from Australia and i came across this site while on Facebook and i love it. I have just found out in my past life i was an Indian and have always had strong feelings that i belong to a tribe but i don’t know which one. I would love to come to a Powwow one day before i die, or if anyone knows of any Indian cultures in Australia i could attend please let me know. I hope the Indian Traditions never fade, like feel very close to the native indians even though i have never met any , but i would like to one day.
