I just got to interview Kali Reis for a quick interview in conjunction with the release of the new movie Mercy.
If you don’t know Kali yet, she’s the real deal, a Wampanoag champion boxer who’s also building a name for herself on screen.
We’ve actually featured her before, and I love how full-circle it felt to talk again, this time with a movie release in the mix.
Read our previous article about Kali.
This interview is connected to the release of Mercy, and after watching the film, I couldn’t stop thinking about how timely it is.
It’s one of those smart tech thrillers that gets you hooked with the pacing, but then it keeps poking at bigger questions about AI, justice, and what happens when technology starts making decisions that impact real people.

But the best part of this whole experience was getting to hear Kali talk about her journey in her own words, how her heritage shapes her, how she carries herself in different spaces, and what it’s been like going from the boxing world into film and storytelling.
There’s a calm confidence to her that makes you lean in and listen, and you can tell she’s thoughtful about what she chooses to put out into the world.
Here’s the interview video below. Hit play, and then drop a comment after, what stood out to you most from what Kali shared?
