In February of 2022, Sampson Sixkiller Sinquah (Gila River Pima/ Hopi-Tewa/ Cherokee) competed against 22 competitors at the World Hoop Dance Championships held at the Heard Museum. He went on to win his first title in the adult division becoming the 2022 World Hoop Dance Champion.
