25 Snapshots from the Stillwater Pow Wow

The Redding Rancheria's Stillwater Pow Wow was recently held September 30th – October 2nd at the Shasta District Fair Grounds in Anderson, California. Events on both days kicked off with a grand entry at noon. Dancers from various tribes competed for a share of more than $15,000 in prizes.

Besides dancing, the pow wow also included a hand game tournament and a drum contest.

Host Drum for the event was Blackstone Singer from Alberta, Canada with Guest Drum Sharpshooter from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Head woman was Leah Villa (Grand Ronde/Paiute) and Head man was Chad Browneagle (Spokane). The MCs for the pow wow included Carlos Calica and Jack Potter Jr.
