Finally…I'm so excited to tell you the news!
I started PowWows.com in 1996 while in graduate school. The community grew and turned into a business years later. All the while I worked a full-time job. For 25+ years I dreamed about being able to work on PowWows.com full time.
Now I'm able to do that! I have retired from my day job!
Thanks to you for making this happen!
The community of PowWows.com has continued to show support over all these years. Thank you!
I'm excited to now be fully present and committed to you.
What does this mean for PowWows.com?
Honestly, I'm not sure, but I'm excited about the opportunities coming!
Over the next couple of months, I will be focused on completing projects that have had to take a back seat while having another job. I will also start planning. Stay tuned!
You can expect me to be an even more active part of the community.

says:I was watching a show about the history of the dust bowl back in the 30’s and was wondering if there is any written history about how Native Americans survived during those dust storms?

says:Paul as a former Graduate student in American History this is indeed good news and I will continue to support you and your family. I am so proud of you. You went where the Great Spirit led you which was the right thing to do.
If you wish please look into taking some wonderful Continuing Education Courses sponsored by The Museum of The American Indian. I am a member and am keeping my teacher’s certificate alive and vital by taking courses in American Indian Hist African History along with conferences and webinars. This is my way of continuing to learn about my heritage as a woman of African-American-Cherokee and both western and eastern African history. Bless you and yours. says:Wow! I’m impressed, Lillian Jane. I’m a retired public school teacher in Florida of German, English, Jewish and Native American grandparents. Sometimes it gets lonely thinking I’m the only one with a disparate family background like mine. Paul has been an inspiration to me since I finally came to the realization at this late stage in life to realize how Native American I have always been without realizing it, in spite of my love for PowWows which was inspired when I attended my first one while still in college. Can’t say I ever gravitated towards Christianity even though I was dragged to Sunday School every Sunday by my parents… And that led me to believe I must be Jewish, for sure my mom is the epidemy of the typical Jewish mother in looks and behavior…all the while reading every book on Native Americans she could get her hands on. And without even realizing it, I have been more Native than anything else in my background, sharing a close relationship with The Great Spirit since childhood, but calling it God..but what’s the difference? There is only ONE GOD is what I always say. My only regret is that I haven’t attended MORE PowWows!!! I sure LOVE a PowWow!
Thank you for your attention to this missive. Should you have the time and/or desire, please feel free to respond. The Pandemic has been stifling for some of us retirees.
I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

I have no doubt that you will succeed in everything you aspire to do! You have done a wonderful job with http://www.powwows.com and I am excited for you and will be anxious to see what comes next as I have enjoyed watching this group grow, bringing awareness to and learning more about Native American culture. ( that I respect greatly)
I consider every member as extended family as this group has been welcoming with open arms!
Thank you! 💕
