For almost two years Chicago visitors to the Field Museum were able to see a unique exhibit by contemporary artist Bunky Echo-Hawk. Bunky Echo-Hawk: Modern Warrior drew inspiration from historic Native pieces that were in the museum's collection and the artist created one of a kind paintings to display in conjunction with them. During his solo exhibition, Echo-Hawk also participated in live-painting events at the museum, asking audience members for ideas to help turn the canvas from blank to beautiful.
