Watch This Stunning Stop Motion Video of Hoop Dancing

The National Film Board of Canada hosts quite a few movies from Aboriginal filmmakers on their website and this one from Melanie Jackson (Métis/Saulteaux) is spectacular. You might already be familiar with her work if you watch Wapos Bay on APTN.

From the film's snyopsis:

“A stunning display of a stop-motion animation, Dancers of the Grass vividly depicts the majesty of the hoop dance, a tradition symbolizing the unity of all nations.”

Thanks to the Internet we have access to so much media. I could only dream of watching something like this 20 years ago!
