Stanford University School of Medicine honors Diné Alumni Dr. Lori Alvord

Dr. Lori Arviso Alvord is a surgeon in Yakima Valley, but before that, she attended Stanford school of medicine.

Dr. Lori Arviso Alvord, a general surgeon for Astria Health, will receive the J.E. Wallace Sterling Lifetime Achievement Award in Medicine, the Stanford Medicine Alumni Association announced recently.

“Dr. Alvord has done extraordinary work as an author and general surgeon and has had immeasurable impact on underserved Native American communities. We are thrilled to honor her remarkable accomplishments,” Lila Hope, alumni association president, said in a news release.
