The Stanford University Pow Wow is always a favorite among western natives. Dancers and drummers come from up and down the coast and even from out in the midwest, a long trek for the powwow trailers.
Powwows.com attended the Saturday evening portion of the powwow and captured some photos at Grant Entry and the Men's Fancy dancing.
Though the competition aspect to powwow is where the dancing gets ruthless and exciting and sometimes controversial, the intertribal dances are when families come pouring out into the circle, laughing and dancing with children and grandparents. Please enjoy some of the photos from Saturday evening.
