Rex A. Begaye was a talented Navajo artist that shared the sacredness and beauty of his culture through artwork.
In this video, Rex A. Begaye describes his traditional upbringing and how it inspired his art.
Unfortunately Begaye passed away in December of 2013. But not before leaving behind a vast amount of paintings and knowledge with the world. His legacy also lives on through the Sarasota Native American Indian Festival, a place where the local Florida community can find authentic Native American fine art and crafts.
His friends and family would like for everyone to join with them in remembering Rex A. Begaye and also learning from him. They'd like to document and archive his legacy for future generations to come. Look at a little bit of what they've created so far.
