It seems that more and more Native youth are turning to music as a way to empower and uplift themselves. And with the help of initiatives like N'we Jinan it looks like it's a powerful way to elevate their voices for all to hear.
The first music video from The N'we Jinan Artists is “Echo My Soul”, which showcases youth Jenelle Manitowabi, Tayler Drew Bottle, Cassie Capay and Chelsea Bunting from the Lac Seul First Nation in Ontario.
The second video released is “Important To Us”. It’s a song created by First Nation and non-Indigenous students of Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School in Gatineau, Quebec.
These two songs are just a small sample of the songs you can hear on the album N'we Jinan The Gathering – Volume 2. If you like what you hear, please go over to the N'we Jinan website and order a copy today! You can also purchase the album on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/nwe-jinan-the-gathering-vol.-2/id1049194855.
