Neil Young Jumps in on NoDAPL Debate with New Song

Posted By Toyacoyah Brown September 22nd, 2016 Last Updated on: September 22nd, 2016

Throughout his career, Neil Young has always used Native imagery in his work, but has also taken a stand on Native issues. Recently Young spoke out against the Keystone XL pipeline with the song “Who's Gonna Stand Up?”, so it's no surprise that he'd also tackle the Dakota Access pipeline.

In a new song released on his social media outlets, “Indian Givers” takes on the recent events in North Dakota.

“There’s a battle raging on the sacred land
Our brothers and sisters have to take a stand
Against us now for what we all been doing
On the sacred land there’s a battle brewing”
