From eBay:
Native american style beaded dress :Worn at 1980 Olympics by Lady Athele Winner-
Stunning America Indian tribal dress–originally intended(so I was toldfor a Pow-Wow ) but instead used in the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid New York. One of the winners wore this at the ceremony afterward signalling the area that once belonged to a tribe of American Indians indigenous to the area where the beautiful lake is located.
I'm not certain how to list all of this but will do my beset and if you who know far more about these artifacts—please to give me some notice…I don't want to lead anyone astray with false information and am really selling this for the lady that wore it as she is now downsizing at her age.
So here goes:
1. Deerskin fringed and beaded dress: waist without belt 38″‘Shoulder to hemline and hanging fringe 50″.
2. 3 very fine beaded necklaces
3. One fur shoulder piece of some sort–do not know type of fur.
4. One fine beaded bracelet
5. One extr beaded star flower as on dress itself.
6. Heavily beaded wampum bag–with the following word done out in beaded work….TELOLANAKA…AND AGAIN I know not more info on this.
7. A pair of arm cuffs that snap on and match the ceremonial outfit in the same colors etc.
8. a belt of some sort in the same colors as the rest of the trim.
The condition of the various piece is excellent but there is some staining–a pot here and a spot there(see for area on photos as a part o fd the description)–the wampum bag appears the worst–itcould be because of t he silver(?) beans that leached?
Oh–I forgot there is a feather style headband–notice in pictures to upper left of where the dress itself is located…
Thanks for looking–I am certain you won't be disappointed if this is your culture thing….but like I said please to welcome questions if you have any..
Thanks again….
