Native American Eagle Feather Tail Dance/Prayer Fan Regalia Beaded Handle Case
This is a contemporary Native American Dance/Prayer fan. Simulated hand painted eagle tail feathers were used along with turkey, grouse, red top pheasant and dyed red fluffs. I made a wooden handle, wrapped in buck skin. #13 Czech Cut or Charlotte beads were used in a 3 drop (peyote) beading method. The tabs at the base of the handle are edge beaded. 12 hand rolled fringe complete the fan.
The bead work for this fan was begun in April during the formation of the Oceti Sakowin camp at Standing Rock N.D. and completed the day before Election day. Many Prayers.
The fan is 17″ (10″ of feathers, 7″ beaded handle) along with an addition of 10″ of fringe.
Padded Missouri River fan case is included.
