Josh Halverson – Mdewakantonwan Dakota – on NBC’s “The Voice”

There is some pretty good Native American representation on this seasons, “The Voice” , and representing the Mdewakantonwan Dakota Nation from Denton, Texas., is Josh Halverson.

This past week Josh blew everyone away with his rendition of Bob Dylan's, “Forever Young”! In the end Josh picked Alicia as his coach because, “shes been a major influence in my musical career from the beginning”.

Josh grew up the son of a cattle rancher and as it played it out, he wanted to get away from, “cattle talk” .   It actually makes perfect sense why Josh went with Alicia because when you meet a bodybuilder at a night club, the last thing a bodybuilder wants to talk about at the club is nutrition, they just want to get jiggy with it.

Alicia Keys is known for rearranging the melodies & harmonies in her songs, so from an audience stand point, Alicia could be setting up her artists to play off their individual strengths, which could mean some pretty special performances are coming from her team this season!

Josh is already off to a great start, his video above has garnered more than a 1M views on youtube!

Good luck Josh!
