Pow wow season is upon us and everyone is getting amped up to hit the arena. The dancers have been practicing their moves all winter, and some might have new regalia pieces to put on. But what about make up for the big event? You have to grab the attention of the judges and wow the audience and makeup is that perfect finishing touch.
Isaac Meyers, Celebrity Makeup Artist & Beauty Expert, shares with us his secret weapon to getting a flawless look each time. Read more from Isaac below!
Happy New Year Pow Wow'ers! I keep getting questions about the Makeup-WarPaint I use on my clients at Pow Wows. Well, let me tell you my secret and why I like it.
First thing, if you're like me and sweat easily, you're going to love this review. I always look for a makeup that is water based so I don't break out. Cream alcohol based makeup can clog your pores and cause breakouts. We gotta look good while we are dancing for our people! With that said, I am a huge fan of Kett Cosmetics for the choice of colors. Their Hydro Color Theory Collection will provide any artist with an endless amount of color options.
I love to mix and match to create secondary and tertiary colors. You can use these with a paint brush or airbrush. They are Fragrance Free • Paraben Free • Silicone Free • Oil Free. It won't flake or crack and most important, sweat proof. I love how I can use a paintbrush to recreate exact traditional war paint designs. Plus it washes off with water, leaves your skin smooth and doesn't strip your skin of natural oils.
Here are a few pictures of looks I created with Kett Cosmetics Makeup:
And here's a video showing off the airbrush application:
I also offer fake eyelashes and makeup for all female dancers at my makeup booth. We have all types of makeup from glitter to any color of eyeshadow. Most girls like their makeup to match their regalia.
Thank you for sharing your secret with us Isaac! I know you will have our dancers looking fabulous on the arena floor.
