No surprises here but disappointment for most. Today Donald Trump signed executive orders that would make way for the Keystone XL Pipeline and Dakota Access Pipeline to move forward, after the Keystone pipeline was rejected in 2015 by then President Obama and the Dakota Access project halted by Army Corps of Engineers in December.

As you can see Trump is already crowing about all the construction jobs this will create. Really curious about this clause here mentioned in his speech- “subject to terms and conditions to be negotiated by us.”

As you can imagine a lot of folks were disturbed by the news, everyone from environmentalists, activists, water protectors, etc.

Response from Standing Rock Sioux Tribe:

Response from Medic Healer Council who are at the camps:

Response from Indigenous Environmental Network:

I'm now wondering if any of this will affect those still at camp, especially since there was already an existing request from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to move the camps for fear of flooding.

We'll definitely be following this story as it unfolds.
