INCREDIBLE beaded Doctors bag from the Apache Indians. Turn of the century piece that needs some TLC. Has some minor bead loss and is separating from the frame in a few spots. This can easily be repaired and at a reasonable cost based on the value of the piece. It is a bit dusty and dirty and needs a good cleaning but since I dont know the proper procedure to clean something like this I have left it as is so it is not damaged. The bottom was very clean and free of dirt and dust so you can get a really good idea of the color of the beads. This is a true piece of history and will never be made again. These do not come up for sale often and as everyone knows the value of this type of artifact is increasing every year. The older it gets, the more rare it is. Very few of these are still around. Bag Measures Approx: 14 x 8.5 x 6.

Contrary to popular myth, we ARE NOT “the Sioux”. That’s a slam from the Ojibwe people, meaning “a treacherous untrustworthy person”. We who are Traditional object to this ongoing slap. Let’s get rid of it. Thank you for showing respect. 🙂

This is not Apache beadwork. The pattern & colors say is far more likely the work of my People – the Lakhota. I should know – I restore such work.
It is doubtful that it is Apaches.
