Today 3/14/15, I attended the Aztec New Year ceremony and celebration in San Jose, CA. It was incredible to be in a community with hundreds of my Southern Brothers and Sisters. There were families, children, elders, all in traditional Aztec regalia, and their feathers on their headdresses had me in awe. I could hear the dancers walking around me as I walked through the market area, because their ankles were adorned in seed-leggings called “Chachayotls” that rattled and clicked as they walked. Please enjoy the photos I took at today's event, and Happy New Year to our Aztec relatives!
