David Guetta Offends More Than Our Ears This Time

Posted By Toyacoyah Brown July 18th, 2015 Last Updated on: September 21st, 2018

Just when I thought I couldn't loathe David Guetta any more than I currently do…

In case you're unfamiliar with this guy, let me fill you in. Guetta is a French DJ and producer who has worked with pop stars like Lady Gaga, Rhianna and has produced various pop songs which somehow rise to the top of the dance charts. This music is not my cup of tea, but the kids these days like it. Shrug. Anyway, Guetta has a series of parties at Pacha nightclub in Ibiza, Spain called “F*** Me I'm Famous”. Classy right? Well if the music didn't offend you, check out how he recently promoted his club night. Cultural Appropriation!

So once again we have scantily-clad girls in cheap knock-off headdresses. Oh and let's not forget that all Native Americans are the same and mix together dreamcatchers, Pacific Northwest imagery, “buckskin” bikinis and turquoise jewelry.

And it's not just Natives he offended, many animal activists are pissed at him too. The night of the party they brought a horse to the club.

I'm over here seriously shaking my head at all of this. Many people have voiced their outrage on YouTube and Facebook pages. Feel free to chime in and let's hope they learn their lesson this time. We're not okay with appropriation!

This is disrespectful to all women!
Definitely to all my Indigenous sisters.

Sorry offence is taken not given. I understand that you don’t see the beauty and celebration of our combined cultures. I understand not liking the music. But being upset about people being dressed up. I think we need to stop look and stop being so sensitive regarding everything. Are they making a mockery? No they are trying to look sexy. Alluring. I think it works for them.

I am totally offended by these pictures and the cheap images they bring out.
The slut looking images should be removed.
I feel most Native american women would be outraged by the way these pictures
make women of the Native culture look.
It is degrading to them;[
