Congratulations to the First Navajo UFC Champion!

Not only did Navajo fighter Nicco Montaño win the inaugural UFC women’s flyweight title on Friday night, she did it with a broken bone in her foot! Talk about tough!

Social media was blowing up over the weekend with congratulatory posts and video from the fight.

One video that everyone loved is when Nicco spoke in Navajo after winning the fight:

And a lot of folks were giving her props before the fight when she picked “Indian Car” to walk out to!

On Sunday the Navajo Nation threw a parade in her honor in her hometown of Lukachukai, Arizona. She was definitely humbled by the experience.

So happy to see all these strong Native women out there winning titles! You definitely inspire the next generation!
