Check out this special contest that will be at Gathering of Nations this year!

Tanksi Clairmont – Head Lady Dancer SPECIAL



Native Women and girls continually exhibit strength, wisdom, perseverance, and commitment to their families, community and culture. They demonstrate these strong characteristics through education, being role models and mentors to others and through social activism. This special will honor these multifaceted passions of women and bring them to the forefront to inspire action in our Native communities. To honor these different characteristics of Native women, this Head Woman’s Special is two-fold. The first component is completing a 3-page action project proposal in one of four areas 1) culture & language; 2) health & wellness; 3) elders and youth; and 4) honoring veterans. The second component is top rated proposals will dance and compete against each other in the arena. This contest is open to all categories, 10 years old and above.
