Scatter Their Own are, Scotti Clifford and Juliana Brown Eyes-Clifford – a husband and wife Alternative Rock Duo of Oglala Lakota ancestry from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. In their own words, they lyrically pay tribute to the concepts and philosophy of Lakota culture while fusing Alternative Rock and Blues into what they would like to call Alter-Native Rock and Roll. They believe that their music celebrates Grandmother Earth.
Take a look at their video for Taste the Time:
The band recently announced they will be playing a gig during South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas with A Tribe Called Red.
Having lived in Austin I can tell you how crazy the city gets during SXSW. That's why it's even more exciting to know that great Native groups like Scatter Their Own will be performing there this year! For those that don't know SXSW is in its 28th year of showcasing regional, national and international music acts. Many bands playing are hoping to catch the eye of industry professionals who could help sign them to a record label. Let's hope this showcase creates a lot of buzz for Scatter Their Own.
For more information on the band you can check out the Scatter Their Own website or follow them on Facebook.
