A Cool Shirt for a Good Cause

OxDx Clothing recently designed an awesome Captain America inspired t-shirt for a special Native youth. Little Eden is a fan of Captain America and like most kids, looks up to him for his strength. And strength is just what he needed as he recently underwent surgery. Luckily the surgery was a success, but now comes the hard part of paying off medical bills for the treatment.

I reached out to his mother to see if she wanted to share his story with us. Understandably she did not want to disclose too much personal information about his condition. But she did have some wonderfully wise words to offer.

I've thought about this since we've first found out he would have to go through this procedure. I knew there would be many people asking “what's wrong with him”. The truth is nothing is “wrong” with him. He's a perfectly kind, caring, courageous little boy with tons of spirit. And when I say nothing is “wrong” with him, I mean it in a way that I don't want people to look at him & think “poor thing” or I don't want his condition to be the first thing that comes to mind when you see him.

Very true Tonya, the first thing that comes to mind when seeing this photo is a happy child and a strong mother!

If you'd like to help the family offset some of their medical bills, all proceeds from the t-shirt will help out. Follow this link to order: http://www.tconnorandco.com/product/eden-s-fundraiser-shirt.

If anyone is interested in Toddler or Youth tees, please email Tonya at [email protected]

Best wishes to you and Eden! We'll be sending our positive energy your way.
