Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have searched the Internet over and over in an attempt to make moccasins and mukluks. I have made quite a few pairs already for my husband, boys, grandchildren and nephew and nieces. They are not by any means state of the art, but they are my creations. I have been using commercially tanned hides, but would like to know a bit more about tanning hides with the brains of the animal. I remember my great granny saying there is enough brain in the animal to tan its hide. How true this is, I don’t know, but I never questioned my granny. She was a smart lady in my books. So if you have that knowledge and would pass it on, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

I found this very informative. My Great Grandma was Cree, but I didn’t Know her. I have always had such a great interest in the culture but no one to ask questions to. I hope you continue to post,I really enjoy it.
