Taboo, a solo Hip Hop artist as well as a member of the Black Eyed Peas, has been very vocal about his support of Standing Rock and the NoDAPL movement. He recently played at Standing Rock for a benefit concert and now debuts a new song dedicated to the cause. “Stand Up/Stand N Rock” features Native musicians and allies such as actress Shailene Woodley, Tony Duncan on flute, Drezus, Supaman and a whole bunch more!

The video features behind the scenes footage of making the song, as well as footage from the North Dakota protest. Take a look below:

People cautiously celebrated the Army Corps of Engineers’s announcement over the weekend that denies a permit for the construction of a key section of the Dakota Access Pipeline that would cross under Lake Oahe. That does not mean that Energy Transfer Partners will heed this announcement, in fact they released their own statement today saying they are “fully committed to ensuring that this vital project is brought to completion and fully expect to complete construction of the pipeline without any additional rerouting in and around Lake Oahe. Nothing this Administration has done today changes that in any way.”

Keep your eyes open folks, this ain’t over yet. Thanks to Taboo and other celebrities for keeping this topic in the news.

They’re going to bring an all out Civil War right here in America due to their lack of honoring the American people and their Rights. Once the Government becomes more powerful than their People, you then have a dictatorship. They are no longer representing their People… they are representing Corporate Greed and the $$$

We have been socialist for many years but I myself have watched checks be past and one thing said to the people of state and another done with promises of benefits. I have done inputting of receipts of the very wealthy that write off Mc Donald’s breakfast receipts that have have bank accounts in other countries and have corporations here showing 0 profit and get — back from our government. Also those who have drivers licenses in other countries and rent their cars here are US citizens and make millions. We the poor middle working class keep this country going. We are told how to when to and we have to or else we are forced to be. Taxed upon things we’ve already been taxed on over and over again. Our schools are a mess. Health care, housing you could go on and and on but you pay for it. And you think we’ve been a communist country. Well the worst is yet to come. Look at just a small part of what has begun at Standing Rock which I will Always Stand by my ancestors no matter which nation their from. But he’s friendly with the KKK. We’re stupid for not knowing the loop holes not to pay taxes. My dear friends it’s only begun. I just hope we all remember that statement Of Love thy brother as thy self. I love my grandmothers sayings that with in a tribe as people know it. You always looked out for one another you always treated each other as you would want to be treated. Your behavior trust giving honesty etc were that of honor. And you always did things only when your heart and your head matched unless it was a matter of life or death. Hate begets hates but love conquers all!

Powerful, but could this be edited to have it start off with a Lakota Sioux voice or an elder first, as said in the video, people who have been here for thousands of years. I’m sure Shaelene would want protocol to be respected, too.
It’s protocol to acknowledge and have those sovereign to the lands represent first in prayers and introductions.
The song gave me shivers several times.
Kukwstumc. I delivered our Chiefs Lil’wat flag to Standing Rock last week.
A powerful circle of prayer and peace for the water.
