Photos The 17th Annual Brown University Spring Thaw Powwow

The Annual Brown University Spring Thaw Powwow has been an annual event since 2002. Now in its 17th year, it is hosted by the Brown Native American Heritage Series and the student group Native Americans at Brown (NAB). Powwow dancers from across New England gather on what was once the ancestral lands of the Narragansett and Wampanoag people.

In addition to documenting the powwow, my eight-year-old son Jet streamed portions of the powwow to the Powwows.om Facebook page.
