Life of the Hoop Dance

Posted By Toyacoyah Brown December 17th, 2017 Blog

Found this great hoop dance video from The CACHE Project, an independent TV and video channel that documents arts and culture around Central Alberta, and thought I'd share with y'all!

In the video they speak with Dallas Arcand, from the Alexander First Nation (Kipohtakaw) Treaty 6 in Alberta, who is a 3x World Champion Hoop Dancer. I'm sure you've seen him dance before!

Hear in his own words what it's like to hoop dance.

I had seen many hoop dancers in the Western part of the country and have found there are none at the Tennessee events. Is this a cultural thing for the western part of the country?
