Troops who leave their families behind.

I am responding and posting this thread in response to the "No Respect" thread, which made me think about the other side of the story. I don't know if he thought about the reprecussions of the thread he posted, but in retrospect, many troops leave behind their families-wives, kids, girlfriends, husbands, boyfriends, relatives. I don't the percentage of spouses who cheat on their loved ones while they are deployed, but we got to give credit to the other half who stay behind and take care of the children, take them to school, cook, clean, take care of the finances and deal with that stress back home. For some spouses there isn't time to cheat or they are very loyal to their spouses that are deployed.

I am also responding to the remarks of barracks rat, I've visited the barracks visiting before. I wasn't allowed in the rooms and I had to check in at the quarterdeck. I was heard stories that day about barracks rats and I was so ashamed of that I wanted to leave and never returned.

I never made anything personal, like I said, but this is one issue I couldn't pass up. I think it was wrong or how he put it, "that females are the cheaters". Men cheat too.

since you went and got all serious on my dumb thread and potentially killed it i had to come over.

it had the intended effect on you. i didnt see you holding back on the spouse cheating stories. in fact id give you a 10+ rating on droppinn dirt.

yeah it was a stupid thread. i admit it. it was a kind of knee jerk reaction to a CNN report on t.v.

im all for family. believe me.

A friend of mines daughter married a Navy man, she called me up and asked what advice she should give her about when he ships out. Being from a Navy family, I told her 2 things, give her a basic home repair book she'll need it while he's gone and tell her to join the wives club on the base. The wives club is a wonderful way to safely help pass the time while men are off base. The companionship and friendship of other women who are going through the same thing that you are and many of these clubs work on projects or with charities to keep them busy. My friends daughter is already working in a base camp for kids who's moms work and is really enjoying it. Let's face itm it's not the military that makes you cheat, it's who you are inside.

Yeah, your thread is funnier than mine and I didn't drop dirt. Thanks for the rating, but it don't mean anything to me. What story are you relating to on CNN? But I have to admit, men and women cheat everywhere. I got to say, your thread is dumb and totally ridiculous, I'm honest, I didn't like it at all. Any remarks or opinions I make is not my dirt, but in fact friends and family in the mlitary. Sorry about raining on your parade dude, better luck next time.

Echo, face it, from what I've read of this guy's threads (and I'm sure he'll bash me on this, too

) he doesn't have much respect for women. So, it will always be our fault... Interesting we never heard a song "stand by your woman", eh 50? But "stand by your man" is what we're expected to do no matter the BS that gets tossed our way...

Hey Ndnsoldier, thought you're suppose to be leaving soon?

I'm thinking of going back, this time joining the Army........but had to think about my kid and my husband. Don't know what effect that would be, since the Army is different. What is the deployment time like for them? I heard on the news this lady, 32 years old, was leaving her three boys behind and spouse, joined the Army. I'm like, damn the kids were sad and I felt so sorry for them. She was teaching them how to cook and take care of the household chores.

We deploy for up to a year or longer...So if you decide to join, and end up @ the 82nd, 101st, 10th Mtn Div. are the most deployed divisions in the Army...Mine, the 10th does the most, out of these 3 divisions btw.

I leave in about 40 days or so...
