Prisoner Abuse Scandal
I have been catching the news of this horrible mess ~ and was pretty flipped out when I heard yesterday that not only were there pictures of Officer England posing with the naked prisoners...but there were also pictures taken of her engaging in sex acts with fellow guards...and these pictures were submitted as well.
Since she is now 7 months pregnant with one of the guards baby, I guess she can't deny that it happened. This stuff just makes me wanna throw up - anybody else feel this way? The abuse photos are sick enough, but...come on.

Check out the Navy Cross thread.......I, for one, hope to God that the court-martial goes thru and they are convicted of every article in the UCMJ.....Thier acts really put the military in a bad light, and tarnished our image a little more......

Although I personally want to see justice serve and everyone involved in this mess prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, if you compare the treatment the Iraqis were subjected to, it is extremely minor compared to how US POWs were treated by the North Koreans and ChiComs in Korea. The physical and mental torture was unbelievable (a Marine WWII vet with a Navy Cross even cracked), yet no one was ever prosecuted for war crimes.
Now concerning the methods of interrogation, from my research, and this is my humble opinion, the best intterogation techniques consists of an active intelligence gathering program and using that information to breakdown the prisoner to obtain information not known. This was used by the Germans in WWII and By the North Koreans and ChiComs in Korea. In one instance during Korea, a US POW was fabricating intel under torture. The Interrogator litterally threw a Chinese tranlsation of a artillary field manual the US gave Nationalist forces. |

Not thinking too much, the object of the coming out at that prison was to raise public outcry!IMO. Although it seemed that it was a conspiracy. It was routinely planned as a payback it seemed and a ratting on others that were involved.IMO. Although the enforcement at the prison seemed to be lax. also to break the resolve of the prisoners to say nothing. As I seem to understand it was a attempt of degrading the prosoners. As I understand no other method would do this job, for secureing info. Vital or not because our forces needed intelligence. These people (the nationals) appear to me to be simple folk. Unless schooled in acts of war, gurillia warfare, demolitions, the whole ball of wax, of resisting. The placing them under imprisonment would be valueless, unless information could be drug out of them, in above mentioned catagories. What can a prisoner say if they don't know anything.?? Who in our forces, would know who knew and who did not know?? Sure someone has that job but on the job training means a bunch. Also on a side, Our forces in control that deal W/ the Village chiefs, in Afganastan, are authorized to wear beards, by our forces. Because the chiefs feel that anyone W/ out a beard are of little knowledge, and the chiefs wont give up info unless the person their addressing is bearded. Maybe that plan would work in Iraq also. Wonder if anyone has tried that approach??GES
