Echo4Tango,

We are glad that you are coming home. My husband was there last year and I agree that it does put a lot of physical and mental stress on a person. That was the first time that I had ever had any type of military experiences. His deployment would have killed me if I had not been living the motto "Always be prepared". I learned that you have to learn to fly by the seat of your pants so to speak. It was a very new experience and I want to Thank You and all the Soldiers who are doing tours all around the world. It isn't easy over there from what I hear but you girls and guys manage and that gives us all hope for a better world. God Bless You All!!!!! Starting school again after you have been out of school for a while is a totally new experience. LOL. I went back after my 1st husband left and I had a small infant and worked a full time job. It was a new experience and gave me a lot of strength. You will do great.

You could always marry a Indian from Canada, tranfer to his Band and then get your education almost all funded. Although you would have to marry somebody from a real rich Band but then they aren't as good looking as us poor rez folk in BC. Just kiddin. I wish you lots of luck, sometimes in Canada there are companies who help sponsor some Aboriginal youth to attend university. In B.C. the Royal Bank, and BC Hydro provide some funding. You might want to explore this avenue. Don't give up, our people need to be more educated.

Jingle in Stars. As the other poster replyed, don't give up. Community colleges are pretty high priced per credit hour here too. I'm living in Kansas, now. I'm older. But I began a distant learning course Via mail. The prices are right for me. I'm on reg. SS. and VA. disability compensation. I taken a lot of this type of courses in my past. Depending on what your seeking, check out these distant courses. You can work, and pay by the month. It's upfront to me and very clear.I'm trying to get Para Legal. I had planned on a Military law speciality. Now since I've came on this com., I'm reevaluateing my speciality.I've only finished 3 lessons I believe. Too much outside reading that I've been doing. Time limits for me are my own speed. They tell me that extensions are given in some cases as needed. Also I'm not sure, but I've thought CC were no need for co signers. They are an organ of the college. Pell grants are free, but you must apply at the proper time. They are usually given out in February. As I understand everybody are authorized a Pell grant. No late information on that. So I suggest, you do some more looking around. There are alot of scolarships, per person that donated them. Maybe small maybe large. But one must follow the course of study dictated by the donar. I've forgotten but I think there are sites on computer that indcate these scolarships. Check it out. Everyone seems to be pulling for you. Luck GES
