GUAM..........ahhhh......ok, one memoriy I got is that my buddy and I went off on our own and toured the island ourselves.....and we found ourselves in a little hole inthe wall bar, near the small mall that didn't have shyt....anyway, the bartendar who was the owner challenge us to a drink....if we could get her buzz on one drink then everything would be on the house for the duration of our stay there (which God be merciful, was 15 days)....so I had learned how to make a certain type of drink in Singapore called an Around the World, which has some killer stuff in it...so I made 3 glasses and we slammed them...needless to say we were never sober for the next 15 days.....LOL!!!!

yeah smitty was nuts, we played the best game ever over seas with the bubs. first we played in PI and then in Thailand. its this game called *smiles* its where we all sit around a table and order drinks. mama san would have some girls under the table.....umm ahh, polishing the hardware, the first one to smile payed for the drinks...*L* well poor smitty was especially tickleish in that region.. and happily payed for the drinks. haha, love that guy..

Hey Injun, can you still hang with the guys if you could? I can't for sure, I don't know about 50 either.....makes me wonder how the hell we lasted at these ports. *shaking my head* People do some real crazy stuff when they get a little brew in them. I remember Singapore, liberty restrictions on everyone, we all (crew of 5,000) end up at this base bar. Marines half naked swimming drunk in the pools, dunk contest going on in one corner, people competing to who can drink the most pitchers! gawww. You're lucky you survived that instead of the war. LOL!

Well I guess I have my first official liberty/port call story. Just spent a little time on the USS Saipan this past weekend, while she's inport at Norfolk. Saturday night had liberty. They allowed us to go to the NEX, movies, and bowling alley. So I wound up in the bowling alley with several pitchers of beer, and bowling several games. The more beer I drank the better my score. I thought I bowled a turkey, but I realized that I bowled a spare and strike, and I was seeing double. Anyway, I got worried about trying to make it through the quarterdeck, but I made it back aboard without any problems.
Not as fun as you guys... but it was my first liberty, lol.

Once, I went to Sasebo Japan...while I was a member of the USN 7th fleet. There was a section of town where the local ummm pay for play girls were known to hang around in vast abundance. It was so bad at times, you had to literally run the gauntlet..if you didn't wish to indulge....*yes, there WERE times when I didn't lol*...
Anyhoo, it was in kind of a corner of town, with only one street passing through it, then dead ending about where most of the bars were located. As luck would have it, while there, we were also having a flag football tournament, and I was the quarterback of our team....and could run fairly well (then) and had good swivel hips moves, and ability to break tackles....SOOOO........ When I first got in to town, and saw all those girls in action...I thought hmmm I can combine fun and practice too!.....so since I was just getting in to town, I had a lot of money...which I pulled out...held in my hand...went to the beginning of the gauntlet...and yelled out: "if you can catch me...you can have me and all my money" So, being true pros...these gals proceeded to take after me in waves...I ran, I ducked, I dodged, I swivel hipped, I did reverse spins, etc....and made some progress thru the street...eventually, tho..one football savvy girl went REAL low and tackled me around the ankles...then, about a dozen of them grabbed my arms, legs, whatever...and carried me in to one of the bars...well...I did give them the money...and we raised hell and drank all that night...and for being a good sport, there were some 'other' benefits too.....but despite this wonderful practice session....we didn't win the championship game...(as described earlier in the thread) this was one of my more memorable stunts...and in hindsight (saw a lot of hinds! lol) it was well worth whatever money was spent too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
