Pat Tillman

Sad to see that Pat Tillman was killed in Afghanistan.

He was a heck of a guy, walking away from millions of dollars playing in the NFL because he felt it was his patriotic duty to go fight terror.

Money isn't everything. Pat Tillman could have gone on to join the big leagues; and like so many others eventually fade away. But his courageous decision to forego becoming an instant millionaire guarantees he will not be forgotten. Integrity, principles; and the like, are more important than a bank account and superstar status. God bless Pat, his wife and family.

It is sad to see any of our soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airman die. What Tillman did, give up millions of dollars and instant celebrity to serve his country, is to be remembered, and looked to as an example. HE IS A TRUE HERO unlike many of our "heros" in atheletics who break the laws with abandon and only care about themselves.

I remember watching Sports Center when Pat Tillman joined the Army and am truly sad to hear he was killed. He sounds like one hell of a guy! Prayers and condolences to his wife, family and friends.

I was in Afghanistan when he was KIA. I was at firebase Purgatory, (which is now called Lagman after one of our soldiers from my Battalion was KIA) getting ready to go out the "wire" and heard what happened...

One of the Navajo Soldiers I met in the 'Stan, met with Pat and got his autograph and talked with him for a bit at Kandahar Airfield, and was impressed with Pat as he was so down to earth.

God Bless the Ndn Warriors who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in this War on Terrorism as well....
