Bohunter,
I average about 10 square inches an hour regardless of width. But I am an exception to the norm and have done A LOT of loomwork. I find the most critical element of time usage is the complexity of the pattern. Some simple patterns I do in my head and they go quick. If I have to follow a drawn pattern, such as when doing letters or realistic shapes, you can increase the time by 1/3 to 1/2. Also depends greatly on the materials you use. Also have to figure out how long it will take to set up the project and to finish it if mounting needs to be done. |

Beadman is like a machine when it comes to doing loomwork, so take his estimate and multiply that by 5!!! LOL
But he is right. a simple design can be done a lot faster than a complex one. The eagle belt I made took.....about 4 months and that was because Beadman continued to provide me with much needed.....kicking in the butt to finish.

Beadman glad to see you too!! LOL As far as my turtle speed approach to craftwork. Well, eventually I do finish a project or two. Even if it requires my friends kicking me in the butt all the time to stay motivated.
No way am I attempting the last supper!!! LOL Not even if I was given a lifetime supply of free beads and paid to do it.....how much are we talking about anyway???

Hawk_FeatherJY From what I could tell from your picture, it looks like you used plywood to make your loom. If so, you might try using thicker wood in the future. I started making my looms out 2"x6" or wider pieces wood. The 2" wood keeps the loom from bowing, twisting, cracking, and breaking while you are in the middle of a piece of beadwork.
Keep your chin up though, I broke warp threads 3 times in after being over half way done with my belt. I was ready to cry!!! With a few tips and taking my time, I was able to replace the warp threads and continue on with my work.

No problem EP. I sent you a pm too.
For all those who thought I was posting some new loom work pics, sorry to disappoint. LOL I was Hijacking my own thread to help EP out. And now we return to our original broadcast So if anyone has some nice loomwork they are wanting to share....this thread has been kinda dead for a while.
