Paul~
Is there any particular graphic design program you used to make your ribbonwork pattern or did you just do it on Paint or something? I am interested in working on some Ribbonwork. Hopefully before the end of the summer, before NOAC. I am planning on coming to AICA so see you there I guess. Thanks
Jed

How are these templates for tighter smaller layer patterns?
Our patterns are tighter diamonds, etc.. My latest Ribbon Work is 17 layers. The 3 pieces for my back apron is about 3 inches wide and the vertical strips for the aprons and leggins are about 11/2- 2 inches wide. I think you are doing well. Not necessarily a Georgeann Robinson Osage suite but good non the less.

Keep up the good work and pictures. I know this is a tedious time consuming project. Let us see the finished product.

Stomp till you drop. Wa-Do!!!!!!

Thanks, I guess.

These templates can be made for smaller patterns, and work great for that.

The suit is finished and mounted.

I'll post the final pitures after I dance in it at the AICA Pow Wow in two weeks!

FRAYING RIBBON

How do you keep the ribbon from fraying out from the starting point of the cut (at the vertex of the finished folds). Why do you wet the ribbon down before you cut and fold it?

I wet it to give it a better crease.

Fraying is something that I haven't been able to avoid. I try to fold as much of it as I can under the ribbon. Then after I've sewn it down, I go back with small scissors and cut off the last pieces.
