Once again, I love this tutorial. Ive been playing around and trying it out, and have made one set of hair ties so far, and am almost finished with set #2. My question is.....where the heck do you find white and yellow sequins? Maaaaaan, Im having no luck there, Wal-Mart only has a Variety pack of various colors/sizes, and thats cool.... and Michaels crafts also carries only variety packs - but with much prettier colors :) Thats the only craft places we really have around here.... so, do you find your white/yellows locally, or order on-line, and if on-line, where?
Thanks a bunch!
Jenn

I think Hobby Lobby has started carrying a new brand of sequins and I think they have white now...for yellow, try Cartwright's Sequins online...you'll be shocked at how many varieties and colors she has

Cool?

I made this one.

Lightbulb Help!

Do you cover the whole pattern with sequins?

What you will need:

pattern
spare fabric (non-stretchy)
interfacing (only needed if fabric is thin)
embroidery hoop
sequins
seedbeads
1 needle
beading thread
fabric glue
scissors

A note about your pattern: I like to draw a to-scale pattern in color. This will give your finished product a more complete appearance because round sequins will let some of the backing material show through. If the backing material is covered with a well-designed pattern, what shows through will match!

Any questions or clarifications?

Next step coming soon.....

semi-cupped are the best and sparkliest

flat ones work too...makes a smoother looking final product....just not as sparkly in my opinion

I've gotten lots of different ones from cartwrights and I've not noticed any of them fading

the inexpensive ones at walmart may fade...the color is sparayed on top (usually for the metallic finish sequins) and will rub off in time

all the ones i've gotten from cartwrights seem thicker, like the color is imbedded inside the plastic maybe
